Both Harps u12 hurling teams lined out for their last game of the season with Colt travelling away to Clanna Gael Fontenoy, where they faced tough, strong opposition and despite best efforts and determination to the final whistle lost out after a series of good wins recently.
Shenick had a home fixture on the main pitch against Nh Barrog, always a formidable opponent. Barrogs dominated the first half, leaving the Harps lads with it all to do in the 2nd half - but the half time team talk hit the spot with the lads showing a strong display of team spirit and effort, keeping Barrogs from scoring for most of the 2nd half while chipping away at the lead from the midfield and forward lines. A late goal saw Harps win out by 1pt!
With official fixtures completed, the team will continue to train and play challenge fixtures over the coming weeks to build on their skills ahead of the u13 season, when they will move to 15 a side matches and full pitch!
The mentors would like to thank the u12 parents for their support this year for both Hurling & Football, travelling to away fixtures and ensuring the lads are attending training sessions.
