Match Report: Senior Ladies v Ballinteer.

This was an evenly contested game between equally talented teams.

Balinteer went ahead early on by 1g 1 pt  but we recovered well and we were all level at the 1st water break.

We then took the initiative after the water break  with some well taken scores and some fantastic team play from back to front to take the lead but Balinteer bounced back with a very fortunate goal to lead at the break by 2pts.

We regrouped and took the first score of the 2nd half to leave it to just a 1 point game.

Balinteer then had a purple patch to go 6 pts in front but to our credit we stormed back to again make it a 1point game.

We then had 2 very controversial goals chalked off by the ref who was pretty poor throughout the game allowing the home side to consistently foul our players,Lyndsey in particular without penalising them at all.We scored a couple more points to get it back to 3pts but unfortunately we didn't get the rub of the green and ended up undeservedly losing by 3pts.

We couldn't ask the girls for more who were led by our fantastic Captain Saoirse Kavanagh from the back through the midfield with non stop running and link up play  from Eve Keogh and Emily Dawson up to the forwards who were led brilliantly by the ever green Sinead Cullen. The young players also did their bit with Cathy Coleman in particular playing a stormer.

A lot to be happy about and we are really looking forward to our next game at home to Clann Mhuire next Wednesday

Scores

Aine Gilmore 1g 1pt

Lyndsey Davey 1g 4pts

Sinead Cullen 1g 1pt
