A Message from Paul Donnelly, Chairman, Skerries Harps.

It’s been a year like no other and as we approach the end of 2020 I wanted to take some time to look back on the year send a message to all our club members, players and volunteers.

To all our players and the great achievements all year, well done in such a challenging year.

To our Dublin players who excelled this year to play in 2 All-Ireland finals, To our 3 U20 players, and of course to our Club Hero Lyndsey Davey who was triumphant last weekend to achieve 4 in a row for the Dublin Ladies. Lyndsey played a huge part in the game, we are all so proud of her success and thank her for being such a great role model for our children.

Thanks to our GPO Louise Byrne and her team of volunteers for putting the framework in place that allowed our academy to continue, first on virtually online, and then later the welcome return back to our main pitch – was great to see the younger players back playing together in the academy. And for all the work with our schools during the year – I think the video on our Facebook page show the close connection we have with the schools and the enthusiasm of the children have for the game.

To all our coaches and mentors in working toward keeping our teams playing throughout this year – thank you all for you efforts.

To our fundraising committee who do such valuable work for the club in raising much needed funds, led by Joanne Kenny, Niall Murphy, Fergal Lynch and Denise Emmett – thanks for all the great initiatives like the Christmas draw, weekly Zingo, Christmas tree collection – the list goes one. Great fun and initiatives for both club and community.

We look forward to new developments and opportunities in 2021. To a return to normality and continuing to support both our club and community. To more successes for the club and to great matches in times ahead.

Stay safe, have a peaceful Christmas and here’s to a happy and healthy new year in 2021.
