The U16a camogie team took to the pitch to play their league semi-final on a very hot and sticky Friday evening to face tough opponents in St Anne's Bohernabreena. The girls won home advantage having finished 1st in their group. The Harps girls started out fast and secured an opening point in the first minute of the game, followed up by a quick goal, and this set the tone for the rest of the match. They hassled, tackled, hooked and blocked their way throughout every line of the pitch. The St Anne's team put up a tough physical challenge to the girls, but with true determination they were never letting them back into the game. Every line of the team from the goalkeeper out stuck to their task. The set pieces were a joy to watch from the lovely frees to the sidelines. The goalie had to make several saves, and considering the position had to be filled at the opening moments of the match by Daria Fingleton, as our actual goalie was out injured, Daria was not caught out!! With fantastic scores from Aimee Maguire, Alex Ward, Eliot Dempsey, Hannah McGinnis and Mia Rice, the girls won their spot in the final on a victory of 6-07 - 0-03! Come on the harps!!
