Our Annual Juvenile Presentation evening took place in Skerries Community Centre last Saturday 25th November, and it was great to see the hall packed with so many of our young players, their parents, families, mentors and supporters! With each our boys & girls teams from U8-U16 represented, it was fair to say the buzz at the event was amazing! The Juvenile committee and team of volunteers spent weeks planning and the afternoon setting up for what is one of the most anticipated and enjoyable events of our Juvenile Club Calendar annually.
Our MC for the night was former Juvenile Chairman & Current U21 Football Mentor, Pat Delaney, who always brings his individual flair and style to the event! Its great to have him host for us each year, keep the event moving and the crowd in check!
The Juvenile Chairperson, Michael Geoghegan welcome our players, parents and mentors to the event, along with our Club Sponsor, Luke Moriarty of Moriarty Supervalu Skerries, who joined us for the evening with this grandchildren Abby & Luke. Its always great to have Luke with us for this annual celebration and his support for Skerries Harps over the years has been unwavering and invaluable. We were also delighted to welcome our Club GPO Katelyn O'Brien to say a few words, in what was her first experience of the Presentation event, and in her few months with the Harps she has made a massive impression on our young players.
Some of our club intercounty reps, Hannah McGinnis (Dublin Minor Ladies), Cillian Emmett (Dublin Minor Captain), Ethan Dunne (Dublin U20's) & Eoghan O'Connor Flanagan (Dublin U20's) joined us to present awards to our U13-U16 Players of the year/Most Improved Players across all 4 codes. These young players are a huge inspiration to our members and we thank them for taking the time to come down and participate.
Each team got their moment up front, welcomed by our MC Pat, with a few words to describe the 2023 Season, and a quick team photo, before an early Christmas Treat was given to each player.
Following our U8-U12 teams, it was time for our U13-U16s to receive their introductions & hotly contested awards for Player of the Year / Most Improved Player for Hurling, Football, Camogie & Ladies Football. The club is very proud of every player who takes to the pitch donning our club jersey with pride and enthusiasm and are delighted to recognise some of the individual players who have stepped up and stood out in their team groups during 2023.
Huge thanks to our photographer Ian Morgan, who captured amazing images which can be viewed at https://photos.app.goo.gl/U7iQQwQFgUZ2AkHW6
Thanks also to all our volunteers who helped made the evening a huge success, from those setting up (and tidying up), those who served refreshments, handed out selection boxes, and promoted our 2023 Club Christmas Draw! Its always a massive team and club community effort so THANK YOU !
