Club Notes June 8th

Safe Return to Gaelic Games

On Friday The GAA, An Cumann Camogaíochta and the LGFA published a plan for a safe return to Gaelic games for the three organisations.

The plan is the work of a specially appointed Advisory Committee, which included representatives of all three bodies, the GPA and a number of medical experts.

It offers a route back to activity, subject to the government timelines being achieved in the weeks and months ahead. Some of the key elements of the report include: · A gradual return to on-field non-contact activity in Phase Three of the Government plan in small groups. · The need for an online education programme and new measures around temperature checking and completed documentation before training and games. · A return to contact sport on July 20. · Provisional windows for club activity and the return of inter-county training and competitions. Our Club Executive are currently reviewing this detailed plan so that when the green light to resume is given we are        in a position to do so in a safe manner while adhering to both Government guidelines & meeting the requirements set    out in this plan. We would encourage our members, in particular players & parent's of our Juvenile players, to read this plan to get familiarised with the requirements. By doing so it will make the transition back easier for everyone concerned You can access the plan by clicking on Safe Return to Gaelic Games Finally a reminder that our facilities remain closed during Phase 2 & that no club organised training will take place during this time. Summer Camp Update We are aware that a number of parents have been in touch with our GPO & Club Coach in relation to securing a place on our camps for their child/children.  The Club Executive have not made a final decision on whether we will be running any camps this year. We will continue to monitor the situation taking into account both Government & GAA policy/guidelines before making a final decision.

Supporting our local businesses

A number of local businesses are opening again as part of the phase 2 lifting of restrictions & we would ask our members to shop local where possible. These businesses have supported our club over the years by sponsoring teams, pitch advertising, event advertising or by simply providing a raffle prize.....now is our opportunity to support them over the coming weeks & months!
