Juvenile Team News

Well done to our u17 boys who had a good win today at home today beating Castleknock 2-15 to 2-11 in the B Football Championship. The lads played in their Kyles Barbers sponsored jerseys. Pictured here are the lads with Kyle and Richie during the week. Thanks to all our sponsors including Moriarty's SuperValu, Skerries our main club sponsor. We couldn’t do it without you!

Cracking game of hurling today by our U16 hurlers in championship...4-10 -2-11 win over St Kevins.

U13 Girls Football Squad finished up a tough but extremely successful season with both teams getting to a semi final stage! We couldn’t be more proud of these wonderful girls.

Since U8s these girls have remained committed, driven and continue to smile and have fun win or lose. Maith sibh cailíní!!!

Well done to our U12 Colt Hurlers who won their league match against Tyrrelstown on Saturday 8 Oct at the Ballast Pit.

After a disappointing result in their previous match the lads had some points to prove but a slow start saw them trail by 1-1 to no score after 15 minutes. However they kept their heads and turned the deficit around to lead by double scores 2-2 to 1-1 at half time.

In the second half confidence grew throughout the entire team and they gradually extended the lead over their opponents, who to their credit kept playing for the entire match. In the end however, it was the Harps who came out on top for a well deserved 6-5 to 3-2 victory.

The U12 Boys Football Team played their last fixtures of the 2022 season on Sat 15th October, with one home and one away game

Dan brunnock, Niall Connolly, Matthew Harty, Jack Mcguinn, Cillian McKenna , Ross Ellis, Sean Keane

Jack Roche, Noa Plant, Shane Grant, Dylan Gibson, Sean Heffernan, Harry Dervan, Joseph Harris, Conor Chambers

Colt had the home fixture and faced St Vincent's in the Ballast Pit, getting off to a great start the lads kept the momentum up right to the final whistle, finding the net multiple times in what was a fine team performance

Meanwhile Shenick travelled to play Lucan Sarsfields away in St Catherine's Park. The lads were up for the game fresh from their last win over St Vincent's and got off to a great start, with some fine passages of play and great skills on display. Lucan battled hard but from goalie to full forward the Harps lads kept up the intensity to the  final whistle and were well deserving of their victory

Oisin Kenny, Aedan Shankey, Karl Foley, Morgan Leonard, Jamie Daly, Adam Oneill, Michael Dennis, Alan Courell, Fionn Larkin, Calum Daly. Thomas Matthews, Evan Bryce, Diarmuid Byrne, Niall Casey

Great end to the last season of Go Games Football for this group, with 2 wins in the bag, the future looks bright

U13 Girls

Goalkeeper may be one of the toughest jobs within a team! Thanks to Alun Cullinan, the U13 Girls were treated to a very worthwhile goalkeeping session recently.

Both players who were in attendance and mentors picked up some fantastic tricks of the trade! Thanks Alun…

MEET GEORGE - world's best sliotar seeker....

WELL DONE to seven-year-old George, the Jack Russell Terrier, who has spent months recovering Skerries Harps sliotars lost in the long grass boundary slopes of the ballast pit.

George is the faithful companion of Michael and Sheila Cummins.

This month George and Micheal returned 65 sliotars to the Harps.

George got a hugh welcome in the club as players were delighted to get their sliotars back.

However George is not finished yet, and with the help of Michael he will continue in his role as sliotar seeker, as it is one of his very favourite occupations...

Thanks

Thanks to all mentors who sent in matcher reports, updates, and photos.
