Minor Camogie Div. 3 V Commercials

Skerries Harps 7-11 Commercials 1-01

The Skerries Harps Minor Camogie team took to the pitch in horrible conditions on Thursday evening. After the opening 5 minutes of the match the rain just poured down on the girls, making conditions very difficult and it was hard to play our usual passing game. But the girls got off to a quick start scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes. They kept the pressure on the Commercial girls and closed them down quickly throughout the first half, leaving Commercials scoreless during the first half. Following the halftime break, the weather worsened and the June evening was more like a very cold and wintry January night!! But in true style, they started off strong and played some lovely cross-field balls to switch the play that had the Commercial girls chasing the ball, eventually, Commercials succeeded in putting the ball past our keeper, to leave the final score line Skerries 7-11 – Commercials 1-01. As the final whistle blew, the girls were beyond wet, they decided together with Commercials to head to Captains to “cool off”. In a lovely show of togetherness, they all jumped in the water despite the rain still pouring down on top of them!! Scorers for the Harps girls: Aimee Maguire, Alex Ward, Aoife Donohue, Hannah McGinnis, Lara Whelan, Lauren Fanning, Niamh Finn, and Mia Rice!! Well done girls and as always huge thanks to all the supporters on the sideline!!

Ladies Football Minor League Results

Well done to both our minor teams on very impressive league campaigns. Our A team finished in 2nd place only one point behind the League winners and our B team finished in 3rd place. The girls played their hearts out in every match and we are proud of each and every one of them. Roll on Championship.

Well done to Tim Deering and Joe Delaney of the Dublin minor panel.

What an amazing day at our finals of the primary school league yesterday. We had great matches and great skill on display, music, burgers, and hotdogs, fun at the ball wall, and Trophies and medals to give out.

An amazing effort by all involved, big thanks to all the children that took part with such great spirit and energy. To all the coaches and referees, thanks for your time and commitment. To the Juvenile committee and members that helped pull it all together. To our shop and bar staff. And to everyone that turned up to support. 🙏 #WhereWeAllBelong
