Finian Murray (RIP)

The Executive Committee, on behalf of all club members, were saddened to hear of the passing of our Honorary Vice President Finian Murray yesterday morning.

Finian embodied the spirit of the GAA as a player on our then Senior Team, with Dublin in the NFL and with his native Sligo in the Connaught Championship, as a member of the Club executive, instrumental in the setting up of the Juvenile Section of the club, and as a volunteer in the truest sense, giving of his time to drive Juvenile teams to matches in his Ford Van, and mentoring many a team in his day. Finian did an immense amount for Skerries Harps, behind the scenes, never needing or wanting any recognition for all he did, and without him & his support over the years, we would not be where we are today. A staunch Harps man, he will be dearly missed by the Club. Our condolences to Finian's brothers Cathal & Paraic, sisters Rosaleen & Mary & the extended Murray family at this difficult time.
